Meet the Characters

Cheburashka is a nice-hearted, friendly creature who used to be a toy in a toy store. Now Cheburashka has made friends with everyone, including Gena, Galya, Tolik and even old not-friendly Shapoklyak and her rat, Lariska. Cheburashka teaches everyone that it is important to have and make new friends, and to be nice with everyone.

Gena Crocodile is Cheburashka's best friend. He is friendly, hard working and nice. He works at the zoo as a crocodile. Before he had friends, he was very lonely. So he made friends in a very unique way. He put up signs all over the city, saying that "A young crocodile is looking for some friends." First to make friends with Gena were Galya, a young girl, and Tolik, a puppy who had no home. Next to become friends with Gena was Cheburashka. Now they all enjoy playing together, and having a good strong frendship with each other.

Galya is a young girl who is friends with Cheburashka and Gena. She is a kind, good-hearted person, and always tries to help people. She is the kind of person everyone should be.

Shapoklyak was mean, nasty old woman until she became friends with Cheburashka, Gena and everyone else. She and her rat sidekick Lariska used to make trouble, and when Cheburashka, Gena, and a bunch of other friends were building the friendship house, Shapoklyak and Lariska made them do a lot of extra, unneeded work. But things worked out nicely at the end, and everyone became friends.
